Marco Simonit & Pierpaolo Sirch
For the past 25 years, Marco & Pierpaolo have established themselves as experts in vineyard management with a focus on reflecting terroir through the grapevines and grapes. They bring this expertise to the Terlato Vineyards Estate Pinot Grigio and Friulano from Friuli Colli Orientali DOC.
Marco Simonit and Pierpaolo Sirch are agronomists, both born in 1966 into families of farmers and winemakers. They grew up as friends, and together have developed the Simonit & Sirch Pruning Method, which codified the rules of vines pruning. Together, they attended the Agriculture College in Cividale del Friuli and after several years of research and experiments in many vineyards across Europe, founded the Preparatori d’Uva Srl in 2003, the only European school accredited in training workers on the manual pruning of vineyards. Their counsel and knowledge is sought out by leading companies throughout Italy and the most important wine regions in Europe; currently Preparatori d’Uva Srl collaborates with more than 130 companies in 11 countries.
They are also the founders of the Italian School of Vine Pruning with 12 offices in major Italian wine regions and are creators of Next in Wine, a prize for young winemakers.
